MTN Music+ by now shouldn’t be anything new to you unless you are the type who isn’t used to watching TV or reading notifications when you check your account balance. You are probably aware of the fact that you are given free 150MB upon registering for MTN MUSIC+. If you didn’t know…… now you know.

I personally, i am not new to this innovation. As a matter of fact, its been staring on my face for quite sometime now until few days back when i decided to give it a shot. I decided to download and register it on my newly acquired Samsung Galaxy Note(Guess that’s my way of test running the phone) and I’d like to share my experience with the service here.

As earlier stated, MTN Music+ by now isn’t news. It’s actually true the app features basically Nigerian songs(No foreign songs). Its also true that you get free 150MB upon registering on the app. Having said that, its common belief that MTN barely offers something really intriguing and amongst all, totally free.

MTN Music+ and Free 150MB Given

The free 150MB based on my ideology, isn’t totally free. What would you consider as free? Would you consider what was given to you by someone and been limited by it as been free? If you would say yes to that then i say, that’s nice but your ideology is different from mine. The free 150MB given can only be used in accessing the MTN Music+ application on your phone. It can also be used in screaming the songs featured on the app and playing them directly from the app. It would have made some sense if the songs could be downloaded rather than wasting data on screaming but NO! You can’t download them other than buying them. Can you imagine?? Am sorry if am been biased. I really am.

The app isn’t even equipped with much songs as expected. Personally, i prefer soft songs to party songs. I understand that party songs is what’s happening in Nigeria now(Well, Ebola has been in the news trend lately) but there are still much Nigerians who’d rather prefer listening to songs that would cool their nerves rather than make their heads bang.

Actually, the app has got categories which which you can select the right songs for your mood but would you consider a song as Jaiye Jaiye by Wizkid as been inspirational? The app only seem to feature popular songs and knowing that the kinda music that rock in Nigeria is party songs, its packed with Dance songs.

For folks who love dancing or shaking their heads while on the move, the MTN Music+ app might be the best bet but then, be ready to spend quite alot on data as you won’t be able to download from the app rather than just listen to them.

Based on research, it was said that the free 150MB given can be used on PC and android. Based on practicals so far, there haven’t been any conviction yet. However, i am still working on this and when my facts are straight, i will be posting how to use free 150MB for MTN Music+ app on PC and android.
