While most Android phones running OS 4.4 KitKat and some android phones running OS 5.1 lollipop can actually be rooted using earlier versions of kingroot app, most phones running 5.1 lollipop cannot be rooted using the app.

In most cases, in other to root these type of stubborn phones running android 5.1 lollipop, one would have to use a recovery like TWRP which during the rooting process, requires using SP flash tool and of course, a computer is required.

Thankfully, users can now download and use the latest version of kingroot app in rooting their stubborn android phones without the need of a computer. I actually used the app in rooting the infinix zero 2 x509 phone running the latest android 5.1 XUI OS and it worked out fine (although after several trials as seen in the screenshot timing below).
